What Are You Committing to This Year?

Wow, what a year it has been so far and we are only two weeks in. That is why I don't look at January 1st as anything but a date on a calendar. And that it is just a point on the map of our lives. In the cycle of my life and rhythms I am still in the dark of winter. And then some personal things happened with my mother which has opened my eyes to yet another initiation, threshold, transition point in my life, my spiritual practice, and my sacred life. And it really got me thinking:

What is it that I desire to commit to this year?

And I invite you to ask the same question. No matter where you are or aren't in your "visioning", dreaming, goal setting process I invite you to ask this question on every step of that journey. Because each and every thing that goes on the vision board or plan, every thing that you "speak" that you want out to the Universe ALSO requires a level of commitment on your part. It requires that you co-create with the Universe whatever it is that your are dreaming and visioning, it requires that you put your life force energy, resources, and time into whatever it is you desire. So I invite you to be discerning in your commitments and how much you can commit to and still stay aligned. Are you including commitments to your INNER SELF and well-being, or is everything on your board an "external" manifestation and set of goals?

If you create words or phrases of the year I would encourage you to consider that those words are an overarching theme on what you would like to commit to from the big picture level. That word that encompasses all of your life not just your work, and that you keep coming back to as your compass point time and time again.

My invitation is that you commit to your Inner Self first and from that place decide what you say yes or no to in your external world of work, relationships, and other commits. Commit to what matters most in your "vessel" and then the outer commitments become easeful, and you manifest what is in FLOW for you.

An example, is my words are Reverence and Refine. And while that will apply to my work, it will apply to ME first. How am I committing to treating my sacred vessel-my physical, spiritual and emotional realms with reverence? How am I refining my vessel, and committing to honoring all that I have done up until this point and all that I will do in the present, so that I set the conditions for my dreams in the future. Because the truth is, there is nothing more important than that. Without this, nothing in the external world will be in integrity with my soul if there is not reverence and refinement in my inner world.

So I leave you with this idea of being in discernment if you are committing to yourself first, before anything else. And being sure that those external commitments...no matter how much you think you want them are in integrity with your soul commitment. And I would love to hear what you are claiming to commit to.

Also, below is a little video I filmed on a creative practice to help you remember both your Inner and Outer Resources for support in your daily life, but most especially when shit hits the fan. AND your resources and support for bringing your dreams, visions, and claimed commitments into form. Enjoy!

Love and Light,

Dina
