The Winter Solstice is my favorite time of the year. It is the longest night, an invitation into the internal realms of visioning, and at the same time a celebration of the returning of the light, a time to create the next phase of the journey and a welcoming of the Sun’s Return. Every year I mark this time with a ceremony to celebrate and honor all that we have harvested this year, release what we no longer need to carry into the next year, and go into the internal space in order to reflect and vision on what our heart and souls desire as we move into the next year. This ceremony will also give us some time and space to step out of the Madness Matrix of the holidays and come home to ourselves.

The plan for the evening is to come together in community and connect, then do a short teaching on the Solstice, a releasing ritual and circle, a journey into the dark in order to rebirth into the light, and set powerful intent for visioning into the next cycle between the Solstice and Imbolc on February 1st. There will be sound, creativity, visioning and movement all designed to move us into 2020 with ease and grace, instead of the external force of having to have it all “done” by December 31st and a whole new set of to-do’s and goals on January 1st.

Finally we will celebrate and enjoy food together. In most traditions the ceremony is grounded by gathering together and enjoying a meal together, so this is a potluck. Please bring a dish to share, and we will celebrate together all that we have harvested, all that we no longer want to carry, and all of the possibilities that are just around the bend.

Please bring an open mind, a journal, a yoga mat, and blanket or pillow as needed for your comfort, as well as, a dish to share. You may also choose  to bring a small object to put in the circle that amplifies your intentions.
