Women always ask me what is Warrior Goddess Training, and what do you do in the workshops. Warrior Goddess Training is a book written by Heatherash Amara and the workshops are based on her years of study in spiritual practices for women. The workshops are experiential and the facilitators have been trained directly by Heatherash.
But what it really is to the core; is women getting together in community to begin a lifelong process of transformation. In order to make change, we need to be aware. That can only be done when we quiet down long enough to listen. Women by nature are highly intuitive beings, but we have allowed our roles, perceptions, external and internal beliefs, and most of all judgments of ourselves and others to cloud our internal vision.
There are times to be a warrior and times to be a Goddess, and there is not a finite rule that you have to be 50% of one a 50% of the other to be whole. We learn that we are whole and we are perfect, we learn to love all of our being. Being a warrior does not necessarily mean we are always in fighting mode, or angry. In most spiritual traditions the warrior, means to be a warrior of the spirit, continuously quieting down, listening, witnessing, and honoring; then cleansing and releasing what is no longer serving us, without any judgment, just noticing. The warrior learns her truth, stands in her power, and lives as authentically as possible. The warrior does not let anyone tell her how she should look, feel, act, and be, but she also doesn’t tell anyone else (or judge them) how to look, act, feel, or be. She is the creator of her story, and her loved ones are the creators of theirs.
Being a warrior paves the way for the Goddess to come alive. When we release what is no longer serving us, we open up to our deep knowing, we honor the flow, the grace, and the creation that is our lives. We open our hearts and honor both our strengths and our vulnerabilities, and in so doing discover our passions and claim our paths.
The tools and techniques in the books are powerful yet accessible techniques to begin walking the path. The workshops and classes add a layer of connection and teachings that are not in the book. Walking this path and being a creative can be a lonely one, but when we come together in community with women the transformations are exponential. We need each other, we need to hold each other in sacred space, and we need to learn how to be vulnerable with each other with complete compassion and non-judgment. When we get in circle in this way, we come to learn that the only one judging us is ourselves, and we are the ones we have been waiting for.
